Tasty Tuesday Buns!
DONNA'S HUNKY PULL-APART BUNS
1 bag frozen white dinner rolls, dough, thawed but still cold
1Tbsp. Seasoning blend. ( I use Morton's Nature's Seasons)
1 tbsp. oregano
1tbsp. basil or parsley
1/4 cup melted butter
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Thoroughly combine seasoning blend with herbs. Arrange 12 rolls in bottom of a 10''x4'' tube pan coated with nonstick coking spray. Brush rolls with butter, sprinkle with 1/3 of herb blend and cheese. Repeat layers of rolls, butter, herb blend and cheese two more times. Cover with sprayed plastic wrap and allow to rise until double in size. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Bake for 35 minutes. Cover with foil during last 15 minutes of baking. Let cool 5 minutes, and then remove Hunky Buns from Pants sic (Pans) . Pull apart, spread on the butter, and enjoy!
I'm blogging on Casablanca Authors today. No idea what I'm talking about, but drop by if you can!

That bread looks good. I'll have to try it out.
And I'm back from the con ladies :D It was fun. I'll put stuff on facebook later.
Glad you're back, Ana! I'm sure it was a blast!

ReplyDeleteI think Brock has a little too much Paremesan sprinkled on his.
Ok I'm getting dressed and tsking off for the North woods for a couple Days. See you all Thursday. Watch those buns for me Girls. Don't let them burn.

We'll do our best, Donna. Have fun!
ReplyDeleteWow, this post kind of has it all! I love the recipe, not that I need to be munching on more bread right now. Also, that picture of Benji is gorgeous. Love the eyes!
ReplyDeleteHave fun, Donna!
Oh, that recipe does sound good and simple too. Love the pre-made frozen dough...so easy! I will have to try this one. I'm with you Kendra, like I need more bread in my diet! :(
ReplyDeleteGreat buns and more dangly bits! And our gorgeous Benji! Love this picture!
I know what you mean about the bread, Kendra. I've just finished the last of my whole wheat bread that I made a while back (it's been in the freezer) and I need more bread like I need a big hole in my head!
ReplyDeleteIt does sound good, doesn't it, Lisa? I've never used the frozen dough before, but I've bought those frozen biscuits which are very good. Must try this out sometime when I've got plenty of people around to help me eat it!
Ahhh! Beautiful, hand-filling globular BUNS---I read somewhere that in an infant, round little fat cheeks are actually a survival characteristic--they make a person want to touch them and pinch them and fondle them and CARE for them---so it logically follows that HunkyBuns are truly a Darwinian PLUS for guys!!??
ReplyDeleteUsing frozen dough is great when you're short on time---try Trader Joe's pizza dough for making quick foccacia breads for dinner! Roll it out thick, dimple the top with your fingers, drizzle on olive oil, add some olives and fresh herbs (rosemany, thyme marjoram) and some parmesan and fresh ground pepper & kosher salt, bake quickly in a HOT oven---YUMMY!!
Ah Suzy! I see we've snared another cook! Guess we'll all wind up with nice, fat, globular buns now! The bread sounds terrific!
ReplyDeleteI found two more photos of Benji which I will send to Cheryl.
ReplyDeleteHunk resaerch will resume in earnest tomorrow.
ROFL! "Donna's Hunky pull apart buns" right below that photo!!
ReplyDeleteOMG!!!!!! Love it!!
