"The slow cooker is a great way to make chili. This beefy chili is packed with beans, veggies, and spice."

3/4 cup diced onion
3/4 cup diced celery
3/4 cup diced green bell pepper
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 (10.75 ounce) cans tomato puree

1/2 tablespoon chili powder
1/2 teaspoon dried parsley

3/4 teaspoon dried basil
3/4 teaspoon dried oregano
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/8 teaspoon hot pepper sauce
|
Directions:

I LOVE the fur!!! I used to make teddy bears out of old fur coats, and they were wonderful---but in this case, I'll just roll Derrick up in his fur and warm him up---his yummydoodle look realistically chilled---wouldn't you just love to help??
ReplyDeleteThe chili sounds great!
I never really have had chili and we have so many places around here to eat it but I've never really tried it. I'll have to try this recipe.
ReplyDeleteWow. I've seen Derrick before, naked, but this...There's something about this picture that makes me drool and awe.
Yep, Suzy, poor Derrick needs someone to curl up in that coat with him. After all, we wouldn't want him to get too .... chilly.....
ReplyDeleteAna,
ReplyDeleteYou've never had chili???? I grew up on it! Different recipe, perhaps, but it was still good. You don't know what you're missing!
If this isn't a Real WOLF in Sheeps Clothing. And yes, this photo shows our Derrick quite relaxed. HIS Yummydoodle needs lots of attention today!!!
ReplyDeleteDerrick Baby you've come to the Right Blog Today!!! We'll put this chili in the slow cooker and than we have 8 hours of SLOW Cooking something with that yummy curvy doodle. WooHOO!!
You can even add a jar of Salsa to spice up the Chili. Texas it up a bit Ana.
Well Hello Derek! There really are no words! He does look a bit cold, but we know better don't we ladies! He really just needs a good rub down!
ReplyDeleteChili is one of those meals that you can do so much with! My kids like to make nachos with the leftovers! You just take corn chips, dollop some chili here and there, lots of shredded cheese next and microwave until warmed and cheese is melted. Add your favorite condiments and viola...it's a great hearty snack! I've never made it in a slow cooker, but I love not having to pay attention to it!
Have a great day all!
Oh, this is exactly the kind of recipe I've been looking for...the weather has turned cooler, and chili is a favorite of mine. Thanks, Donna!! As for the befurred Derrick...I think he's an excellent accompaniment to the dish. Something about this pic is a little werewolf-y to me. I love it:-)
ReplyDeleteI know I really need to try chili. I will. And who am I kidding? I came back to view some more Derrick XD
ReplyDeleteThat's the nice thing about chili, everyone does it a little bit differently, adding their own personal touches. I got mine from the Joy of Cooking many years ago, but I've tweaked it a bit and made it my own.
ReplyDeleteDerrick could use some personal touches, too, and looks like we've got plenty of volunteers!
Yum!
ReplyDeleteThe chili looks good, too.
Hi everyone!
ReplyDeleteKendra you're right! Derrick with fur has this sexy werewolf appeal.
Donna that recipe sounds delicious. I love chili! Ana you have to try it, you're going to love it. Don't forget to call Derrick he'll make sure the chili is HOT.
P.S Cheryl I love that you made Benji a virgin. lol! I think that a virgin Zetithian will be an irresistible combination. Can't wait for the book to come out. It'll be awesome if they put Benji on the cover.
I hope you all enjoy the Derr--I mean, the chili!
ReplyDeleteA virgin Zetithian should be fun, Leslie. I just hope I can pull it off....
