Tasty Tuesday Peanut Butter French Toast!

Today is Peaches' first birthday! It's hard to believe she's all grown up. Too bad she doesn't act that way. She's got the run of the place and it's a good thing we've got thirty acres for her to roam around on, or I have a feeling we'd be hearing from the neighbors. As it is, she seems to respect the borders of our domain and is usually within calling distance. She goes with me to the barn all the time, but doesn't stick around like she used to. I think she feels she has the horses and cats trained well enough that she doesn't need to supervise them and she has her own agenda. I haven't got any special dinner planned, but I bet she'd love some French toast for breakfast!

And with that in mind, here's another great recipe from our own Diva Donna!

She writes:

Well it's Sunday and we just got up . We slept in a Bit. My Boy Toy wants some PB French Toast. So while he's making the bed. I decided to whip up a Batch. It's Tasty!

PEANUT BUTTER FRENCH TOAST

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/4 cup peanut butter
  • 2 tablespoons white sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 4 slices bread

Directions

  1. Whisk together milk, eggs, peanut butter, sugar, vanilla extract, and cinnamon in a large bowl.
  2. Heat the oil in a griddle or frying pan over medium heat.
  3. Dunk each slice of bread in egg mixture, soaking both sides. Place in pan, and cook on both sides until golden, about 3 to 4 minutes per side. Serve hot.

And I mean a pretty good French toast. Adding peanut butter to it sounds delicious.

  4. Yeah, those boys on "the boy" are pretty natural when it comes to body hair, but they are a little bit shy about showing their yummy parts.
Ah, well, we can't have everything, can we? The WWW guys aren't shy, but they're pretty closely trimmed.

Peaches says thanks for all of the birthday wishes!

  5. Cheryl, you made my day! Lovin' the furry guy and even the towel doesn't really bother me--after all, my imagination is pretty darn good and his eyes are telling me all I need to know...oh, and the answer, Mr Gorgeous, is a resounding, "YES!"

    Merci beaucoup!!!

  6. Happy Birthday Peaches. I hope you made her PB French Toast. And tucked in a Beef stick. Speaking of Beef Sticks. Frenchie here is just a big Tease. He's hiding a Nice Beef Stick. But if you team up. Snatch and Grab. He's at your Mercy. Have it your own way. Drizzle on a little syrup. Maybe enjoy some nuts. I'm sure you can be inspired.LOL!!!

  7. Happy Birthday Peaches! Wow, another milestone on the CBEB! Time sure does fly by!

The recipe sounds fabulous...though, as thick as PB is...does it actually absorb into the bread?

    Nice hunk too!

  8. I gave Peaches a giant chewbone this morning. It's already gone!

Thought you might like that one, Nancy. I just love those South American guys.

I'm going to have to try this recipe soon. Gotta get some bananas to go on top, though.

  10. Happy Birthday to Peaches...give her some extra cuddles for me:)

Cheryl, I'm so hoping by "chew" bone that you don't mean a rawhide bone. Rawhide bones can easily be fatal...especially to smaller dogs ~ even with dog parents sitting right there watching. It makes me cringe every time I even hear the word and more often than not, pet owners aren't even aware what a choking hazard they can be.

The head-hair on our hunk today looks way too pouffy to me. *snort* His nest below is just fine but he does need to lose the towel;)

I'm hungry and drooling on my keyboard...the French Toast recipe sounds delicious although I'd probably leave out the peanut butter (even though I love it and eat almost daily). I'm not fond of peanut butter cookies either...go figure. *shrug*

  13. Cheryl...I'm curious. You said on one of the blogs you visited that you were basically raised with horses. Why then would you take riding lessons? It's puzzled me for a while now since you have horses that live with you:)

  14. Riding is one of those things that can always be improved on. Sort of like writing!
