Tasty Tuesday Sausage Cheese Balls!

You know, it's getting to the point where I might as well rename Tasty Tuesday as Donna's Guestblog Day! It's all hers, including that last pic!

So, without further adieu, here's another of her terrific recipes!

Now that we have snow on the ground, I start thinking of Holiday entertaining.
So yesterday, while stuck inside during the snowstorm. I made up a couple batches of these Cheesy Balls and had a few with breakfast eggs today and then froze the rest. They'll be a good appetizer ready for the holidays. I've even added these to the Turkey as the stuffing one year. Pretty tasty. I've served them with spaghetti or even as Beef Stroganoff or Swedish meatballs. They're very fun and versatile Balls. ENJOY THESE BALLS THEY'RE A MOUTH FULL OF YUMMYNESS.

  • 2 (16 ounce) packages Regular Flavor Jimmy Dean Pork Sausage
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose baking mix
  • 4 cups shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped celery
  • 2 teaspoons black pepper
  • 2 teaspoons minced garlic (optional)

  1. Preheat oven to 375 F. Combine all ingredients in a large mixing bowl; stir well. Form into 1inch balls. Place on ungreased baking sheet; bake 18-20 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from oven; cool 5 minutes before removing from pan. Serve with cocktail forks or toothpicks.

  1. I'll bet there's a few great lines that could fit here. Darn if I can think of one. I'll be back later to see all of your great lines LOL.
And to take another peek at the recipe. No, really.

  2. That poor sausage needs a little...plumping. I'd be glad to provide some motivation because I like my guys furry. ;)

  3. wow donna! that recipe looks yummy! i will try 2! popping them in my mouth i swirl them around my tongue absorbing all the great flavors. mmmm...yes...i do love a couple of good-n-tasty balls in my mouth.

i do not however like soft sausages in my mouth. maybe if we add a little fire 2 the mix it will firm up properly. :-)

  4. Plump up the sausage, we'll have a barrel of fun
Chew on the sausage, we've got the blues on the run
Zing boom tararrel, ring out a song of good cheer
Now's the time to roll out the barrel, for the gang's all here.

Does anyone else hear a accordion?

  5. Okay, Paige, I can see we're going to have to work some sort of sharing agreement about the furry guys--CBEB Yah-yah's know that I'm all over the fuzzies...whaddya say? Wanna share?

The recipe looks great, Donna! I think I'll print this out to take to my kids' for Christmas...yum!!

  6. Ladies let's hope we have enough furry's to go around the YahYah CBEB's camp. I too love hairy guys. So we'll have to share. I'm sure we can be pleasant and giving and having a good time and provide inspiration for all of you writers and readers. LOL
These balls love to go to christmas parties.

  7. Donna, love the recipe...when you say "baking mix" do you mean something like Bisquick?

As always, the side-o-hunk is very nice!

  8. Okay, obviously I need to go hunting for bears to satisfy this hairy guy fetish so many of you seem to have. Anyone want to come with me?

  9. Hunting for bears? *snort* Works for me! And I'm more than willing to share! Plenty of furry, handsome men to go around!! :D

  10. Oooohhh...bears!! Yes! Yes! I'm in!

**That's actually my pet name for hubs...who is, yes...quite furry!***

  11. @Mary G. I think your nose is growing (recipe indeed;) just like we keep wishing that lovely sausage will. It most definitely needs plumping. Definitely. (Rainman)

The Sausage Cheese Balls recipe sounds like a winner. I'm going to cut and paste it in an email to send to my sister - who quite often entertains crowds. I'll keep the man balls and sausage for my own entertainment while singing Diva Donna's ditty....

  12. Yes Lisa, Biquick or Jiffy Baking Mix. It all works.

  13. I hate being without internet on my phone sometimes lol.

I love sausage and cheese and balls! Yes I know how wrong that sounds :)
