Tasty Tuesday Salisbury Steak!

Donna has been in the kitchen again and sends us another great recipe!

This is a classic Salisbury steak in beef and mushroom gravy. This is my husband's all-time favorite meal. This recipe makes plenty gravy, so serve over mashed potatoes or egg noodles. And goes great with a nice glass of wine.

Ingredients(serves 6)ready in 35 min.

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 egg
  • 3 tablespoons crushed buttery round cracker crumbs
  • 2 tablespoons finely chopped onion
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon poultry seasoning
  • 2 (4 ounce) cans sliced mushrooms with juice
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 3 cups milk
  • 3 cubes beef bouillon

  1. In a medium bowl, mix together the ground beef, egg, cracker crumbs, onion, salt, pepper and poultry seasoning using your hands. Shape into 6 patties about 1 inch thick.
  2. Fry the patties in a large skillet over medium-high heat for 3 to 4 minutes per side, or until browned. Drain off grease, and remove patties to a platter; keep warm.
  3. Melt the butter in the same skillet, and add the mushrooms. Cook and stir for about 2 minutes. Sprinkle the flour over, and mix in until blended. Stir in the milk and beef bouillon. Cook and stir over medium heat until smooth and starting to thicken. Return the patties to the gravy and cook over low heat, uncovered, for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  1. I want him! Please! I've been a very good girl! Really!

Now I can go and look at the recipe. :)

  2. Oh my! Those eyes, that square jaw, those pecs, omg those abs.
    Oh the @$#%$?# stuck zipper.

Want to try the recipe. Sounds fab.

  3. Had to go for the encore. Those obliques. Sigh - my second fave part.

  4. Mary G, you took the two words right out of my mouth.

    Oh. My.

Sorry, no more words left :)

  5. Seems today's hunk has either rendered everyone virtually speechless or has made them resort to hitting the symbol keys. Donna sure knows how to pick 'em, doesn't she?

  6. YUMMY!!!!!Come on Lisa and Mary G. and Mellanie. We can get that Blasted Zipper unstuck.@#$%^&* Come on CHERYL you Pull it. Not that!!! The zipper. I'll hold him high up on his thigh for leverage. WOW!!! What a Man.

  7. My, oh my, oh my. I don't even care he doesn't have any fur!! The man is as chiseled perfect as I have ever seen. (Wipes away some drool...)

This cold, damp weather is killing my arthritis! (Whine, whine, whine...sorry.) Hope the rest of you are all staying warm and happy!! :)

  8. In light of yesterday's topic, I thought I should pass on that Hero is a free download on All Romance Ebooks.
It comes up in the banner at the top of the page on a 12 Days of Christmas promotion.

  9. Aauooghhhh... Man...... Bod..... Hunk.....
    Me want......

Stuck zipper? No worries, I've got a trick for unsticking. I run my hands up his torso, clench the zipper with my teeth, and slowly work my face lower...

  10. the steak looks yummy.

but what i really want is that beautiful man!

  11. He is SOOOOOOO gorgeous! He is exactly my type!!! I peeked at him earlier this morning and have been mopping up drool all day long ever since!!
The steak recipe looks good...but not near as good as he does!

Great to hear about Hero! I'll have to download it as soon as I break down and get my e-reader!

I hope everyone is enjoying their families and the holiday cheer! Christmas Day is right around the corner!

  12. Update - I got his zipper fixed!

  13. LOL! Did you take a picture, Alicia?

  14. I think the Hero freebie is only in effect for a couple of days, Noelle, but you can download it to your computer and then to your device. At least, I think you can. What say you, e-reader people?

Hey Paulette! I always knew you had excellent taste!

  15. No picture, sadly. And the bad news is his YD got a tiny zipper cut on its way to freedom (he didn't notice, but I was sure it happened). Since I had no Neosporin, I decided to apply saliva liberally. I think he'll be OK.

  16. A nice choice indeed Donna. Love seeing this hunk again. Oh! and trust me when I tell you I can work a pair of pliers;)

Well cripes Donna...I just got ALL the ingredients for the tuna noodle casserole together...thought I had them all but was missing the damn celery. I'm good to go now and once I get it made I'll be set for days...even after I freeze part of it:)

Because the Salisbury Steak recipe sounds good, I'll save that for another day (month? year?) *grin*

  17. Yikes! Zipper cuts and pliers? LOL! His poor YD will need all the tender loving care the Yah-Yahs can give!

And, yes, Cynthia. Gorgeous says it all.
