Tasty Tuesday Sausage and Biscuits!

Looks like Donna's cooking breakfast for the guys! Guess I'd better find some hungry hunks for her!

Big Daddy Biscuits For All Our BIG HUNKS

GREAT With BIG SAUSAGE GRAVY

Original recipe yield 6 grand sized biscuits
6 servings

INGREDIENTS

2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon white sugar
  • 1/3 cup shortening
  • 1 cup milk

DIRECTIONS

  1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C).
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar. Cut in the shortening until the mixture resembles coarse meal. Gradually stir in milk until dough pulls away from the side of the bowl.
  3. Turn out onto a floured surface, and knead 15 to 20 times. Pat or roll dough out to 1 inch thick. Cut biscuits with a large cutter or juice glass dipped in flour. Repeat until all dough is used. Brush off the excess flour, and place biscuits onto an ungreased baking sheet.

    INGREDIENTS (Nutrition)

    • 1 (12 ounce) package maple flavored sausage(BIG MEAT)
    • 3 tablespoons butter
    • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
    • 3 cups whole milk
    • salt and pepper to taste

    DIRECTIONS

Place sausage in a large, deep skillet. Cook over medium-high heat until evenly brown. Remove sausage with a slotted spoon, leaving the drippings in the pan. Stir in the butter until melted. Add flour, and stir until smooth. Reduce heat to medium, and cook until light brown. Gradually whisk in milk, and cook until thickened. Season with salt and pepper, and stir in cooked sausage. Reduce heat, and simmer for 12 to 15 minutes. If gravy becomes too thick, stir in a little more milk. VERY YUMMY!

  1. I love sausage and biscuits with gravy but I'd never tried to make it from scratch. I'm going to have to try these recipes. They sound good.

    The hunk on the horse isn't a bad looker either. I approve :D

  3. These are really Man sized biscuits. And what's better than alot of Sausage on our biscuits. We need to feed this naked cowboy some biscuits. And if you look real close this Cowboy is showing part of his SAUSAGE!!! So YUMMY!!!

    One of my favorites! I've never made them at home. I always thought they were too much work. But this recipe doesn't look too bad. My parents are coming for a visit...maybe a big Sunday breakfast is in order. I'll have to hide naked cowboy guy though!
