Tasty Tuesday Salisbury Steak!

Thank goodness Donna keeps providing me with recipes or Tuesdays wouldn't be nearly as tasty! Now, if she was only here to cook it for me, that would be even better.

I still haven't recovered from RWA. I didn't feel that tired at the time, but the adrenaline has worn off and I've been falling asleep in front of my computer in the middle of the day.

No guest blogs today, thank goodness, but some of the Indiana RWA gang wanted to get together and write an erotic anthology, and I've been working on it, but even with no holds barred, I'm still falling asleep!

*yawn* So, without further adieu, here's Donna's cure for the tired, sleepy, and under the weather!
Salisbury STEAK
(for 6 normal people, or 2 of Donna's men)

Ingredients

  • 1 (10.5 ounce) can condensed French onion soup
  • 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
  • 1/2 cup dry bread crumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon mustard powder

Directions

  1. In a large bowl, mix together 1/3 cup condensed French onion soup with ground beef, bread crumbs, egg, salt and black pepper. Shape into 6 oval patties.
  2. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, brown both sides of patties. Pour off excess fat.
  3. In a small bowl, blend flour and remaining soup until smooth. Mix in ketchup, water, Worcestershire sauce and mustard powder. Pour over meat in skillet. Cover, and cook for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. ENJOY!!!
Oh, yes, and a hunk. Mustn't forget the hunk. . . .

Well, ladies, it's finally happened. I got an email from a guy asking me to put his picture on the blog, and, believe it or not, he's actually read some of my books!

This is Vincent wearing what he refers to as his "uniform." He works in a club somewhere in Wisconsin and wanted to be a Monday Moon candidate.

He's plenty cute, but for Monday Moons, he needs to send me a shot from a different angle!

  1. OMG! I'm first! Ana must be working. That was a fun post. You should see the big smile on my face. That's his uniform, huh? Hmmmm....where does he work?

Love the recipe! Yummy! It's one of Garrett's favorites Donna. Thanks. Now I can attempt to make it instead of defrosting it! :)

  2. I plan to write in an anthology someday :D and wow for Vincent emailing you lol. He's cute though.

  3. Now, that is a wonderful FIRST!! Men SHOULD be sending their pictures to you so you can post them for our appreciation!! Yahoo to Vincent---he's a smart (and good looking) man!!

I'm super glad you're taking the idea of an erotic anthology so seriously, Cheryl---I'll buy at least four copies when it comes out!! A lot of my friends love your books, but can't afford to buy them---and I'm not loaning yours out any more---so I buy a few as 'loaners' whenever a new one of yours comes out!

    Glad you're home safe...

  4. Minnesota huh, I wonder if a road trip is in order. It has to be cooler there than here in the Ohio. 97 yesterday and hotter today. Yuck!

Vincent looks buff! Over his right shoulder is a possible Monday Moons poster, behind his head....well....a possible artists rendition of a yummydoodle! At least that's my take and I'm stickin' to it.

Maybe we ladies should get together with Cheryl and write our own anthology! Now wouldn't that be a hoot!

  5. Woohoo!!! Vinnie is no Minnie.
And he's a Babe. Love his brief uniform. And finger nail polish too.
I wonder what club? That's not that far to drive.
I wonder who's weasel and big balls are hanging behind his head?
And also Enjoy the Salisbury Steak. My Hub and Son can eat the whole thing in one meal.

  6. Actually, the anthology will probably only be available as an ebook, since they're the ones doing most of the erotica these days, and women readers prefer to buy online as opposed to going to a bookstore. However, since you ladies all appear to have computers, that shouldn't be a problem for you!

Vincent didn't say exactly where he worked, just that it was in Wisconsin. I sent him an email to tell him his picture was up, but haven't heard back from him. And yeah, there is some interesting stuff hanging from the ceiling!

  7. Okay, update on Vincent. He works at a place called Sugar Shack, which is near Lake Geneva in Wisconsin, and says he does a lot of private parties. I've got the buns pic, but I'm saving it for a Monday!

  8. I'm not sure if this is really true. But this place Wisconsin, Sugar Shake isn't the nicest place. But they claim to be the only Completely Nude Venue. HMM!!! We wouldn't like that. LOL!!!

  9. Okay, today's trip to B&N (Fairfax, VA) to buy HERO was a bust:( Don't think I didn't make an issue of it at the Information Desk because I surely did:) I was all prepared to take pictures and everything.

What I found out is that 5 copies had been ordered some time ago; publishing date was listed as August 1 -- which I scoffed at because that was a Sunday -- we settled for August 2; the books were positively not in the back of the store waiting to be put on the shelf; it was thought the books would arrive before the end of the week. I had Information Person make a note that a copy was to be pulled with my name on it and I would be called as soon as it's in:)

I can certainly say that Vincent of Sugar Shack has some cojones and he certainly gets points for reading some of your books. Go Vincent!

On another note I finished reading Wolf Tales 10 (Kate Douglas) this morning and wrote Kate that it knocked my socks off. The whole series is powerful but this one grew wings and flew.

I also inserted the Cheryl and Kate photo posted from Orlando -- the one I named "Book Goddesses Stunning" (the one where you're both dressed in black). She loved it and thought you, Cheryl, were a kick and remarked that "— finally, another woman with a mind as warped as mine!"

@Jessica. I also noticed those "moons" behind Vincent;)

The recipe today sounds delicious. I wish Donna were here to cook it for me too. *big grin*

@Suzy. What a cool thing for you to do so your friends can read Cheryl's books.

  11. Oh Nancy I'm so sorry to hear that. I'm glad you complained. I received a email from Amazon a couple Days ago. Hero was shipped. So any day. My shiny copy will arrive I hope. Yeah Ana. You couldn't sneak one for Nancy.

  12. Oh, Nancy, what a bummer! Thanks for voicing your displeasure, though. And, yes, I'm warped, but Kate is more stunning!

Speaking of stunning, you should see the story I'm writing for the erotic anthology. I'm using words I normally have to avoid. Two guys and a girl, and the guys are clones. Is that warped or what?

Glad to hear your store got Hero, Ana. My B&N only had 3 copies ordered. You must be selling lots of them to have that many coming in!

My copy from Amazon came today. Ever since my friends got Slave a couple of weeks before I got my author's copies, I pre-order at least one so I won't be the last to get it!
