Tasty Tuesday Sausage Balls!

Donna sent me this recipe recently, which is similar to one I got from a friend about... yikes!... at least thirty years ago! The recipe I have is for more of an appetizer or party food version, and calls for 1 cup Bisquick mixed with 1/3 cup milk, which you then mix with 4 oz of shredded cheddar cheese and 1 lb of sausage, but however you make them, they're still darn good! I mean, how could anything that mixes sausage, cheese, and biscuits not be delicious???

Donna's 1-2-3 Sausage Balls(Gotta love these breakfast Balls) 1 pound bulk pork sausage or 1/2 bulk pork sausage and 1/2 bulk spicy pork sausage) 2 cups shredded sharp Cheddar cheese 2 cups all-purpose biscuit baking mix

Directions

  1. Preheat an oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  2. Stir the sausage, Cheddar cheese, and dry baking mix together in a mixing bowl until evenly combined; roll into 1 inch balls and place onto an ungreased baking sheet.
  3. Bake in the preheated oven until the pork is no longer pink in the center and the balls are golden brown, 15 to 20 minutes. Enjoy !!!

I'm guest blogging on Night Owl Romance today!

Grab some balls and come on over!

  4. Good morning, ladies!
LOL! Those balls really worked with this recipe, didn't they? They were the most round, anyway, and the hunk is adorable!

    Donna,
I tried out your Italian Turkey Sausage Pasta Primavera recipe last night, and the guys loved it! They even ate the squash!!!!

  5. Woohoo!! Sausage balls, you never get enough balls. They're fun to play with, squeeze them and roll them, and pant them in the PAN. LOL!!!This cutie has really nice shaped balls too.
And we've seen him before. I think he grows nicely with some TLC.

Cheryl, can you PLEASE give us another picture of our little darlin' here with his sausage as a fully engorged link? Pretty please;)

  7. I don't think I have one, Nancy! He was just in the "cute hunk" file and I don't know his name, either.

LOL! I'm guessing another hunk quest is about to begin!

  8. CUTE CUTE CUTE! He's so cute and that smile is precious. I love how his hair kinda spikes out all over too!

Sadly, my brain went directly to young, young, much too young. Ya, sorry to be a downer. I just dropped my 14 year old off for Freshman orientation. Feeling my age a little. :)

  9. @Lisa. From where I'm sitting, you're still very young but it's how you feel that matters. I think we should both jump in bed with our baby stud and teach him a thing or two---he IS adorable and could certainly benefit from some older women expertise;)

  12. @Diva Donna. You're on amigo! We'll make it a triple with our cutie pie which should blow his brains out but being so young and all, he should have plenty of stamina to go around. Let's do it!

  13. P.S. Just so his enjoyment is as full on as ours...we'll blindfold him. God knows I can't pass "nekkid" scrutiny. *snort*

  14. Good Idea. He'll just think we're well rounded Godesses.
I found a guy pic today with a 3-5 lb. sausage. I sent it to Cheryl. He probably has to wear sling supporter to walk.
