Tasty Tuesday Blueberry Buckle!

Took down my Christmas tree last night. Now I need something really tasty to get me over my post holiday blues. Hmmm.... let's see now.... This looks like just the ticket!

Donna sent me this one a while back. Maybe blueberries will help to liven up the winter doldrums!

She writes:
I decided I needed to use up some blueberries. So I'd like to share my Grandmother's recipe.

  • 1/4 cup butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 cups fresh blueberries
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/3 cup cold butter

  1. In a small mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar. Beat in the egg. Combine the flour, baking powder and salt; add to creamed mixture alternately with milk. Fold in the blueberries. Pour into greased 9-in. square baking pan.
  2. For topping, combine the sugar, flour and cinnamon in a bowl; cut in butter until crumbly. Sprinkle over blueberry mixture. Bake at 375 degrees F for 40-45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean. Cool on a wire rack.

  1. Love to see a man posing with his tool. I would like to the other rolling pin he has hidden away though.

Love blueberries & they're good for you. Got to try this recipe.

  2. *snicker* I have some pics of that, Mary G. Maybe tomorrow....

  3. Does he serve breakfast in bed as well as cook? Love a nicely rounded man--and his buns are very nicely rounded :)

  4. LOL!!!
Tony COOKS big time. He'll wine and dine you and Feed IT to you in bed with finese. He's one Latin lover extraoadinaire. And you'll never be disappointed.
He always buckles my blueberries with style.

  5. Just teasing. He's not Antonio Banderas. This Guy is a Niko Exotic Stripper Dancer/Playgirl 2008 Model. He can do awesome splits. Have you ever imagined or wrote a scene with the Guy Naked and doing the Splits during sex. Well, then you haven't been in my fantasy. LOL
You might want to check this out. It's blurry. But you get the idea.

  6. Interesting video, Donna! I'd like to check out that YD sock up close!

  7. Love blueberries! Recipe looks good Donna-another winner! I'd probably be able to loose weight if I had something like Niko to look at in the kitchen. Who'd care about eating with him around!

  8. Cheryl,
I so agree. That socked YD in his video can sure whip to the music. AY DIO MIO!!!

  9. First I licked the screen (Blueberry Buckle) and then I ripped his apron off:)
