Tasty Tuesday Chili!

I posted Donna's chili recipe a while back, but with the cold weather firmly entrenched around here, I figure it wouldn't hurt to post one more. I posted this last January, but I've modified it slightly since then.

Cheryl's Tummy Warming Chili

1 lb 14 oz can light red kidney beans
1 lb 12 oz can diced tomatoes; pureed
1 tsp salt
1 lb very lean hamburger
2 cloves garlic; diced
1 tsp sugar
1 bay leaf
3 tbsp Mexene chili powder
1 large onion; chopped
1 jalapeno; seeded and diced
2 tbsp butter
3 oz spaghetti broken into thirds or 1 cup of any other pasta or macaroni you choose

Melt butter in large soup pot and saute onions until transparent. Add hamburger and cook until browned. Add all other ingredients except pasta and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low, cover, and cook for 45 minutes, stirring occasionally. Then add pasta and cook another fifteen minutes, stirring every 5 minutes. Serve topped with grated cheese and enjoy with a nice, hot hunk on the side!

  1. That chili sure does sound yummy and tummy warming.

Ooh I like the hunk. I like how he's shaved except for the stubble around his face. Mrow. XD

  2. Well, if the chilli doesn't warm ya up the picture of Marco will! That is one good looking hunk of male. WOW! Can one nibble on him while waiting for the chilli to cook?

  3. We really need it around here today, it's REALLY cold!!!!

  4. Oh, I lurve Marco. *sigh* Marco and chili sounds just about perfect! It's freezing here too, and windy, which means I'm hiding inside!!

  5. I feel the Chill!!!But Cheryl brought us Tasty Marco and Tummy Warming Chili or Tummy Warming Marco and Tasty Chili. You have a few choices. Warm up the Chili and then grab Marco and Warm him up too. I can get my Tongue around around a spoonful of this Chili. And I'd like to get a Taste of Marco too. They both are easy to prepare. Now I'm hungry LOL!!!

  6. Good morning all! That chili does look good and I'm hungry today! It's a little cold here, but the sun is out and well, it'll never be as cold as where you all are!

Have we seen this Marco before? I like this guy and I'm with you Ana, the smooth hairless look, I kinda like it!

  7. It's actually warming up a bit now; a whopping 28 degrees! Nice and sunny and the snow is melting. Then it gets down in the teens again. Chili time!

I've used Marco before, Lisa. If you click on his name at the bottom of the post, it will bring up the other one. He was one of our tattooed hunks!

  8. Oh my! Two tasty dishes! *waggles eyebrows*

  9. Well ladies I just got back from seeing Avatar. My son invited me, at the last min. as usual, but, who cares it is a great movie.I recommend it everyone!!!

While waiting for the movie to start I hit B&N and found Fugitive, they had not unpacked it yet but were willing to get me a copy ASAP...I am now a proud owener of your latest book. I'm so glad I'm on vacation, I can stay up all night and read to my hearts content! Yeah!;)

  10. Lucky you Jessica! I hit B/N and Borders today. Borders doesn't even show it shipped from the warehouse yet...I was bummed, but I'll keep checking!

  11. Yeah! I have a copy of FUGITIVE in my eager hands. I had pre-ordered it months ago from amazon.com, but it apparently dropped off my pending orders list. On my way back in town today I stopped by B & N and a young man looked it up on his computer and he said it came in today and was still in the back of the store. He went and brought me out a copy.

Looks like it's going to be a late reading night for Jessica and me.

  12. Yes, I had a bit of a problem with the shipments to Borders because I'm supposed to have a signing there on Saturday and they don't have any books! I emailed Sourcebooks and yelled for help, and they are sending a case of books ASAP.

*grumble, grumble* My first ever booksigning and I was going to have to supply the books....

  13. Sharon & Jessica,
Well, I certainly hope you ladies enjoy the book! Hope you didn't stay up too late!
