Another thing I'm wondering is whether I can sustain a daily blog without the guys. Before when I had nothing to say, I could post a hunk and not worry, knowing the gang would take the balls and run with them. (pun intended) But eventually, I think of something, even if it's just randomness--like today.
Speaking of worries, I made more of those pickled peppers yesterday, and I believe the recipe I posted to be the best version of it. The peppers in that first batch are crisp and tasty! Budley even liked them!
Now all I have to worry about is whether or not to name the deer that keeps coming into the yard to eat the apples. Seems like anytime I look out, there she is. She's become such a frequent visitor that Peaches only chases her away when encouraged to do so. She does, however, chase the rabbit that has taken up residence in my garden and has eaten the bean plants down to the stems. I'm hoping she gets the little bugger soon.
Deer, rabbits, Japanese beetles, and a variety of other pests have plagued my garden this year, but at least we don't have this problem.
Tanya sent me these pics a few weeks back, and I'm hoping the grasshoppers have moved on by now.
Creepy!!!!
Those grasshoppers look really creepy...I feel like I haven't purchased all of your books Cheryl. I thought I had but I may have to check again lol. Yay for random thoughts!
ReplyDeleteLOL! There are getting to be quite a few of them, Ana. Have fun!
ReplyDeleteThe peppers sound yummy, Cheryl! I remember helping my mom make pickled peppers when I was growing up. Good luck keeping the animals out of your garden. A deer fence has kept mommy deer and her triplets out of mine, but the rabbits and groundhogs try to burrow underneath.
ReplyDeleteI hear you loud and clear on the contest entries! The grasshoppers can't be much worse than a few I judged...
My garden is smaller and more compact than usual this year, which gives the rabbits a place to hide. Never had anything eat my beans before. Guess a long, open row is best!
ReplyDeleteI love your random thoughts. I think the grasshoppers are evil, tree chopping, tobacco chewing devils. I think we all had secret fantasies of wanting to be a rock star groupy, and UNDENIABLE just gave us a chance to get in one of their pairs of kinky pants. LOL!!
ReplyDeleteYou're probably right, Donna. Rock stars have a definite appeal!
ReplyDeleteI'm wondering if you'll see an increase in sales of the first two books after readers have had a chance to finish Undeniable...
ReplyDeleteI've read #1 Unbridled and #3 Undeniable and I have to say the hero of Undeniable has stuck with me. His curly hair, his passion for his lady fueling his music, the team of them together at the end, hit all my buttons. I loved it and it's on my best of 2013 list. I've been talking it up on the blogs so maybe I've helped (I hope).
ReplyDeleteDon't worry about posting every day. Post when you have something to share whatever it is - random thoughts, recipes, books, whatever.
Regarding the grasshoppers...remember the plague of locust in the Bible? They were grasshoppers yah know.
I hope you're right, Mellanie! You just never know which books will click with people. Then again, Glittergirl may be responsible! Thanks for the promo!
ReplyDeleteNope, the grasshoppers are still here. They won't leave until the first frost kills them. I'm glad your book is doing great. I know I enjoyed it and referred it to several of my friends.
